JiuJitsu & Judo Academy
About Viewbank JiuJitsu and Judo
Viewbank Jiu Jitsu Academy has been teaching the traditional arts of Jiu Jitsu and Judo in Viewbank since its founding by Sensei Mark Dransfield in 2011.
We welcome all students from age 10 and up to join us in developing character through the dedicated practice of the martial arts and learning self defence through skills taught and practiced safely in the dojo. Our learning has serious purpose but the environment is friendly and the activities are fun.
We practice and develop our martial art every Sunday except Easter, Mothers Day, Christmas and New Year. All are welcome to come and see what we do and to step onto the mat and give it a go!
Jiu Jitsu has improved my coordination and confidence 120%. — Warren.
Our teaching emphasises discipline, midfulness, control and fitness whilst learning a realistic self-defence in a safe and fun environment.
- Jiu-jitsu and Judo are taught together on Sunday afternoons
Who trains here?
We have a mix of students over a wide range of ages. The younger people are often current Viewbank College pupils or students who joined us while they were at the College. Most are Viewbank locals but we also have students from other suburbs of northern Melbourne.
Our physical classes have temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we'll be back as soon as its safe to do so.
While we wait we are running a Distance Learning Program for Federation members. Enquire above for more info.
